The Compliance Manager serves as the primary subject matter expert and communication liaison for supplier compliance globally. This position will be tasked with creating policies and practices that meet global compliance responsibilities while also supporting the company in meeting strategic goals for social, environmental, and ethical programs. The Compliance Manager will also act as an internal resource to fulfill requests for monitoring and reporting on the corrective action plans for suppliers.


  • Develop and maintain an organized, methodical documentation system for communicating, implementing and managing new and existing regulatory requirements
  • Conduct audit planning; review and analyze supplier audit reports; confirm corrective action plans; document audit findings
  • Maintain a current knowledge of global compliance regulations that could affect the company, suppliers, and customers; analyze both domestic and international laws and report findings to senior management in a timely manner
  • Coordinate regulatory responses when compliance participation is needed
  • Complete key performance indicator (KPI) reports with various compliance agencies, including FSC, SA8000, ISO, REACH, and Sedex
  • Lead efforts to develop and administer sustainability and social responsibility programs
  • Educate and train employees, suppliers, and customers on necessary regulations and industry practices
  • Identify and substantiate costs; develop budget for expenses related to global compliance programs


  • Ability to complete all tasks with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-up
  • Oversee all phases of assigned projects to ensure completion within schedule
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create professional relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Analyze and problem-solve effectively, efficiently, and with a sense of urgency based on priorities
  • Work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality in all tasks


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, or related field, and at least 3 years of experience in a related role
  • Compliance experience in social responsibility and sustainability; packaging industry experience is desired
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including intermediate-level Excel skills, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to meet physical requirements for occasional inspections to be completed at the distribution center
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask/prioritize based on urgency
